·         Format your sources according to APA guidelines that can be found at the Center for Writing Excellence to cite your sources: http://www.apollolibrary.com/cwe/pdfs/AXIASampleAPAReferences.pdf

·         Complete Appendix E.

·         Answer the following questions:

o    How do you decide which information is noteworthy and which is not?
o    How do you determine whether to quote, paraphrase, or summarize a source?

·         Post Appendix E as an attachment.

If information is relevant to my topic and seems credible, I believe it noteworthy.  Basically I write down everything and sort it out later.  I will use a quote if the information is already well spoken and if I use my own words it will not have the same impact.  I paraphrase when the information is generally correct and I want to use my own words, and when I summarize a source is when I believe there is too much information or not enough and a general overview would be better suited.

Pharmacology being “the scientific study of the effects of chemical substances on living systems”. It is important that we know what each drug will do to the human body before consumption.  Pharmacologists study drugs and their effects in order to determine any harmful effects before marketing and distributing to the public.  They study how the body handles drugs and often ways risk versus benefit.  The drugs then go through clinical studies to determine in a real life scenario how the drugs affect humans before putting on the shelves.
