1.     Assignment: Incorporating Statistics, Graphs, and Illustrations

·         Resources: Incorporating Statistics, Graphs, and Illustrations; Creating Tables tutorial; and Axia College’s Writing Style Handbook

·         Review Incorporating Statistics, Graphs, and Illustrations on the student Web site; the Microsoft® Word tutorial Creating Tables at http://corptrain.phoenix.edu/axia/com215/wordchart01.htm, and Ch. 1 of Axia College’s Writing Style Handbook.

·         Consider the following: Effective visuals can illustrate points in your research paper and help readers understand and accept your arguments more easily.

o    Identify the different types of statistics, graphs, and illustrations that are appropriate for your topic.
o    Where do these visuals fit most effectively into your paper? Explain how these visuals strengthen your arguments.

·         Develop two or more visuals you plan to use in your research paper.

·         Write a sentence to introduce each visual within the context of your paper. Refer to the examples in Incorporating Statistics, Graphs, and Illustrations.

·         Post your assignment as an attachment.


            Sentence 1 used for my first visual plan, which is going to be a table of a survey done by one of my sources.

            V. J. Wirtz took surveyed a group of individuals over 18 years of age that have bought at least one drug in their life.  The survey tested their knowledge on the harmful effects of the drugs they were buying.  The results of the survey are shown in the table below.

Sentence 2 used for my second visual plan, which is another table created from another one of my sources on eight different prescription drugs.

            J Rohrlich informed us in “Your Money & Your Life” potential harmful side effects of eight different commonly taken prescription drugs.  The table below lists the drugs with their side effects.
