The
article I chose is on protein cycling for athletes. The article starts by explaining what cycling
is and what it means in carbohydrate consumption. In the past, body builders have used
carbohydrate cycling as a way of gaining weight faster than normal. The article takes a few paragraphs to explain
what cycling is, and then a few more explaining how to approach cycling. The article also explains why athletes might
employ this method as a way of gaining muscle weight quicker than you would by
exercise alone.
The
article even includes stage by stage instructions on what to do to follow the
cycling method of muscle gain. It is an
eight day cycle that can repeat as many times as the individual wants. The article gives you a standard protein
equivalent to follow of 1.5 grams for each pound of body weight. It gives a few links for facts on fat loss
and the growth cycle. The article ends
with a sample meal plan for a 180 pound man for stage one and stage two of the
protein cycle. It is a six meal 3161
calorie per day diet for stage one and a six meal 3190 calorie per day for
stage two.
